The Internet Classics Archive
A thorough site with many classical texts.

MUSE, JHU
From Johns Hopkins University. A collection of their literary journals, in on-line format. SFSU has a membership there, so make sure you log on from an SFSU server.

Luminarium
Medieval, Renaissance, 17th century texts.

Carrie
Collections in many languages, organized by author. Look in the Stacks.

Garbl's Writing Resources, Online
A collection of writing resources

Project Gutenberg
Cooperative effort to transcribe books and make them available on-line in a digital format.

The Labyrinth
Resources for Medieval Studies
Texts in Latin, French, Middle and Old English, Iberian and Italian.
A well-structured and attractive website.

Wiretap Books
Fairly straightforward source of on-line texts.
Wiretap is run as a free public service to provide electronic text to citizens of the Internet.

Project Bartleby
A good site. Not a huge source of materials, but many well-known works are here.

The Online Book Initiative
Set up in Gopher format. Wide variety of electronic texts, not specific to Literature.

The Internet Public Library
Another immense collection of texts, including non-literary subjects such as Social Sciences, History, and more.

Classic Short Stories
Filled with a good variety of works-heavy on Guy de Maupassant, but also contains Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, and others.

Alex: A Catalog
You can search using keywords, or you can browse through their file storage. The former is recommended.

The Bible Gateway(TM)
This is a service of the Gospel Communications Network (GCN). Provides a means of accessing specific portions of the Bible, a subject search for general themes and ideas, and links to Bibles in other languages.
